Who are we?

– a registered non-profit organisation consisting of active and former Scouts, as well as those who are close to the work of the organisation or to the goals of the Scouts.

We see the realisation of the goals of the Scouts as contributing to understanding across religious, cultural and national borders. We give children and young people the opportunity to find themselves in our society and to take on new responsibilities.

– politically and religiously neutral.

The organisation aims to promote the goals of the Scouts and the education of young people.

We are united by shared activities and support for the organisation of camp sites, as well as by personal contacts.

Anyone who shares the goals of the organisation may become a member.

We support…

– all branches of the BdP in North Bavaria, as well as groups currently being established, with: the provision of spaces; publicity work; sharing know-how regarding Scouts work; searching for sites; preparation for trips abroad and sharing contacts abroad: purchasing equipment such as tents; advising members regarding questions about youth work, whether organisational or financial.

– However, we are not directly involved in the active work of the branches and groups.

The BdP…

– belongs to the worldwide organisation of Scouts (WAGGGS) and Pfadfinder (WOSM), which are some of the largest youth organisations in the world.

– is interconfessional and not affiliated with any political party or interest group

– is alongside the evangelical (VCP), catholic (DPSG, PSG) and muslim (BMPPD) associations as one of Germany’s internationally recognised Scouting associations.

– is a co-ed child and youth organisation that is not involved with any adult organisations

– values international upbringing and allowing young people of all nations, races and religions to meet. This is one of our key ideas.

We see ourselves…

– not as competing with other existing promotional associations, but as adding to them.

Many of our members are also members of the other promotional associations.

We also offer a home for former Scouts, who no longer have any contact to their branches, or whose branches have been disbanded.
